The Volunteer Chapter of SWANA currently has a membership consisting of 132 people who are enganged in the solid waste business in Tennessee. SWANA strives to be a primary source of information and networking opportunities to solid waste professionals in Tennessee. SWANA serves solid waste Landfillprogram directors and superintendents, public works directors, environmental engineers, consultants, private haulers, recycling coordinators, equipment manufacturers and distributors, landfill operators, waste-to-energy professionals, regulatory officers, elected officials, university faculty and staff, regional planners and finance officers.

You will be joining a network of colleagues who, like you, are striving to make a positive impact in one of the nation's important and most complex fields -- solid waste -- where resource management, engineering, public health, and the environment all come together.

As a Member of the Volunteer Chapter of SWANA, you will experience:
  • the opportunity to network and share ideas with fellow solid waste professionals,
  • timely updates on regulations and changes that will affect your operations, and
  • access to the world's largest solid waste library (over 7,000 volumes).
Our chapter established a scholarship program in 2003 that is open to the son, daughter, adopted son or daughter, grandson or granddaughter of a member (sponsor) in good standing of the Tennessee Volunteer Chapter of SWANA.   1. New Regular Member (Public Sector):
    $169 US

  2. New Corporate Member (Private Sector):
    $329 US

  3. Small Business Member:
    $229 US

  4. Student Member:
    $59 US (copy of current class schedule required)

  5. Retired:
    $59 US

  6. Chapter Subscriber Member - Members can now belong to more than one Chapter through additional Chapter subscriptions
    • Regular Member: $27 US
    • Corporate Member: $59 US
    • Small Business/Small Hauler Member: $39 US

*Small Consultant defined as any independent consultant for municipal solid waste practices with five (5) or fewer full-time employees. Small Hauler defined as any independent solid-waste hauling company with annual gross revenue of less than $10 million.
